Blerina Gjoka, executive director of Kujto.al
Blerina Gjoka has a long career in written journalism for political issues, lately engaged in investigative journalism as well.
She joined the team of the Foundation “Kujto” (Remember) in 2019, believing in the cause of creating a digital memory about the period of the communist dictatorship in Albania 1944-1991.
Kujto (www.kujto.al) is an online archive containing over 50,000 victim profiles, a YouTube channel featuring approximately 100 video testimonies interviews and 15 documentaries.
Along with artistic activities that engage the public directly, like the "Sounds of Memory" concert and expositions, Kujto.al has created during 6 years a point of reference for all those who want to know more about the crimes of the savage regime that Enver Hoxha built and to know the heroes and victims of the past.
Kujto.al is a database, which updates constantly with hundreds of documents, evidence and testimonies that are accessible to anyone from all over the world.
One goal is to present as much evidence as possible; the other is to reach as many people as possible, in particular the youth.
