Dagmar Hovestadt was the spokesperson for the Federal Commissioner for the Stasi Records from 2011 to 2021. She previously covered the unification process as a journalist in Berlin and became a foreign correspondent on the West Coast of the USA from 2000 to 2011. Turning archival documents into relevant conversation for today is her passion. She publishes on the role of archives in transitional justice and the history of the Stasi Records Archive.
